Prasad Babu Ramulu

Prasad Babu heads the E-commerce Initiative unit in Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), where he is responsible for executing strategic projects in driving adoption and demands for e- commerce in Malaysia. He and his team is currently executing the DE Dagang Campaign which aims to benefit more that 100,00 businesses in sectors such as Tourism & Craft, Halal & Agriculture and export of Malaysian product. He is also leading the execution of various export campaigns to promote Malaysian products to key markets such as Brunei, China, Indonesia, UK and Europe.

Prior to this, Prasad has lead various initiatives in the E-commerce sectors focusing on e-commerce adoption among local businesses, driving sales through domestic & international sales campaigns and various process improvement exercises in e-commerce fulfillment. He has led the Belanjawan 2021 E-commerce Initiative which benefited more that 800,000 businesses and generated GMV of more than RM8Bil within 6 months.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Prasad has served in various sectors including publication & media, pharmaceutical, logistics and national initiatives. He is passionate in helping businesses grow through digital adoption and innovation.

He holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from Coventry University, UK.
