Yong Kai Ping is the Chief Executive Officer of Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).

Sidec is the Selangor government agency established to drive the digital transformation of Selangor as ASEAN’s digital hub. Sidec has been tasked to nurture digital talents and narrow the digital divide in Selangor.

Yong is also a veteran journalist with 15 years of experience under his belt, having founded the Chinese site of Malaysiakini and later founded its online TV, KiniTV.

Yong is also a British Chevening Scholar and graduated from the University of Birmingham UK in International Studies.

Apart from his time in the tech and media industry, Yong is also an expert in education, corporate strategy, strategic planning and business consultation.
